Getting to bring a side arm shotgun rather then having to bring breach charges for vertical play is way more powerful then even sledge really is for it. The majority of players often fail to realize just how strong a side arm shotgun is on attack or in general, bur Its objectively more powerful on attack then on defense and that's why there's only 4 ops who have the ability to bring an automatic and a shotgun on attack. The super shorty is actually what put gridlock in the lead in the end. So at the end, neither has a better kit than the other they just have kits that are better for their specific roles, which do have some overlap. I think the better two are the ARX and the F90, and you basically just trade rate of fire and damage. For sidearms, Gridlock does win thanks to the super shorty and Gonne-6, but for primaries, it probably comes down to preference. Both can bring breach charges, so that's a draw.
As for the rest of the kit: Gridlock can bring smokes, which are also great for the execute, while Nomad can bring flashes, which are better for roam clear/flank watch. Either one can be used for either job, but they both have their place. Thus, Trax are the superior execute tool. Trax, on the other hand, take longer to deal with and make a lot of noise, making them much better for planting the defuser. Thus, airjabs are better for flank watch. Airjabs, if placed correctly, have to be triggered or exploded, which is hard to miss, while trax can be shot (including suppressed) or meleed. Nomad is much more oriented towards flank watch, while Gridlock is much more oriented towards the execute. They often get compared, but they're name to accomplish different things (with some overlap). My playstyle is Anchor on defense and Planter on attack in case somebody cares.I love Gridlock, but I don't think it's fair to say that her kit is objectively better than Nomad's. So basically, Gridlock can do everything, yet Nomad and others are seen as better, why? Oh and also, she has smokes, which is yet again another great tool for plants. Then there’s her gadget, i plop down one for flankwatch and leave 2 for the plant, they’re excellent time wasters imo, and there are a good few instances in which I made it very hard to retake site. Then there’s the fact that she’s a 3 armor, I personally hate 3 speeds, they’re just not tanky enough and just kind of don’t fit me at all, and considering the fact that there aren’t many 3 armors on attack, Gridlock is just perfect in every way for me. Her kit isn’t the best, but both her guns can support ACOGs, and she also has a super shorty, which has saved and helped me many times. My question is, Why is gridlock kinda seen as a bad pick? the op that just fits me the best, and the op I currently main along with Warden on defense. I have about 10 hours played on Grid and I am pretty sure this is the op.
